The bookstore in College Hall had a very special visitor last Wednesday.  Santa Claus made a jolly appearance, offering photo opportunities and a cupcake decorating station for everyone on his “nice” list.

Children from the on-campus YMCA/JCC Child Development Center made a special trip so they could tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

“This was all Santa’s idea,” said Jennifer Lorenz, a full time staff member at the bookstore.  According to Lorenz, this is the first year Santa has visited the bookstore and with the recent publicity Owens has received, the timing couldn’t be better.

Santa and his helpers spread holiday cheer to students and teachers alike. Pictures were taken and printed on the spot for anyone who wanted one. Mary Perkins, one of the bookstore’s student employees, provided delicious cupcakes made from scratch.

“Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas,” was Saint Nick’s only comment before returning to the North Pole.

More pictures from the event can be viewed on our flickr page.
