Did you know that Owens Community offers this class? Most people don’t.

According to the description on the Owens website, dance fitness is an aerobic fitness class based on dance and music combined with cardiovascular exercise to create and effective aerobic workout. The class helps develops you develop cardiovascular endurance, physical strength and flexibility through selected routines.

“Our instructor is really good,” said Kimberly Parker. When asked if she liked the class Parker said, ”I love it. Since I have been doing this class I’ve lost 10 pounds.” We asked Victoria Watson the same question to which she respond, ”I like it a lot. I feel like its helping me. I’ve lost 10 pounds since we stared.”

When we asked instructor Kimberly Mohler how she would define dance fitness she said, “Dance fitness is a way of disguising exercise to people who may not want to exercise but like to move to the music. I try to have a good combination of fitness and fun.” We also asked her if the class should be longer than seven weeks she said, “Yes absolutely 100%. The only way for someone to see real results is to keep up a exercise routine for more than seven weeks. I would love to offered it three times a week instead of two.”

If your interested in taking this class, it is offered in the spring and fall semesters and has no prerequisites.
