Different sport, same story: Express softball claims another NJCAA championship

If you blink, you may miss a softball pitch. You may also have missed most of the season.

The Owens Express softball team are down to the last month in their 2015 season.

According to Owensexpress.com, the Express have played 34 total games this season, winning 26 of them (26-14).

The team has a combined batting average of .357 and scored a total of 287 runs.

In conference play, the Express boast a 10-2 record.

Express freshman and outfielder, Jacey Gray, has a team highs in batting average, .442, runs (43), hits (57) and stolen bases (40). First baseman, Tori Weidinger, has a team high of home runs (9) and RBI’s (37).

The Express leads the standings by three games over Sinclair Community College who is 7-5 in conference play and 31-10 overall. The three game lead also gives the Express sole ownership of the NJCAA championship, their second in a row.
