Surviving the financial cuts, head coach Sonny Lewis and his women’s volleyball team have began their season quest to become NJCAA champions.

The team began play on August 28, and went 4-1 before the Owens Invitational weekend that took place on September 2-4.

To start off the invitational, Owens would loose the first game to Vincennes College 3-2. The following five games however, would turn into wins to conclude the weekends games.

The Owens Express would go on to win their sixth game in a row in their next game at Cuyahoga Community College, making a season record to date of 10-2.

The Express will face Lorain County Community College next in the SHAC Wednesday at 6:00.
